It may come as a surprise to many of you but I’m not always in running clothes.
I’ve been accessorizing my outfits with my JORD reclaimed wood watch for over 3 years. More recently they have ventured into a new realm of fashion by adding a line of environmentally friendly, high-quality wallets and handbags made from vegan materials.
Who is JORD?
A few noteworthy attributes about JORD. Pronounced “YODE”, the word JORD is Norwegian meaning “Of the Earth”. The company, however, is American based out of St. Louis, MO while providing free international shipping to everyone. The company strives to work with designers and artisans who keep creativity as one of its core values. In addition, being environmentally conscious is at the forefront of their work. Their mission is to change the way fashion is created, Conscious Fashion is the RULE, not the exception.
How are JORD products sustainable?
The wood watches are made of recycled downed wood and/or often reclaimed from old wood furniture. Their new wallet and handbag lines are made of vegan leather called Suberhide which is made from cruelty-free cork oak trees. These trees are 1 of 3 trees in the world that can be stripped of their bark and yet continue to thrive. And when the bark regrows, it pulls in high amounts of carbon dioxide thus reducing green-house gases. Astonishingly, this cruelty-free material is as soft as other luxurious leather pieces while being highly resistant to scratches, tearing or staining and at the same time easy to clean.
I’m in love with this statement red Suberhide wallet from JORD.
It’s been exciting to work to partner with JORD and to help them with their products by giving my opinions on their new designs. I’d love to invite you along to participate too!
